Chesterfield FC will begin their 2026/27 season with a Carabao Cup first-round tie against Fleetwood Town at Highbury Stadium on Saturday afternoon at 3pm.
The Spireites last won in the Carabao Cup in 2006, when they beat Manchester City, Wolves and West Ham before being knocked out by Charlton Athletic on penalties.
Fleetwood were knocked out in the first round of the Carabao Cup last season, holding Barnsley to a 2-2 draw before losing on penalties at Oakwell.
Recent Form and Head to Head
Chesterfield and Fleetwood drew 1-1 in both League Two meetings last season. In April, Ryan Stark scored a last-minute goal to secure a 1-1 draw for the Spireites, his first goal for the club.
The Spireites have struggled for wins at Highbury Stadium in recent years, with their last victory at home coming in 2015.

Fleetwood completed the signing of Andy Cannon last month. Cannon was part of Wrexham's three successive promotions from the National League to the Championship. He spent last season at Burton Albion, making 16 appearances as the Brewers finished 17th in League One.
