Dave Simmonds has resigned as a director of Chesterfield Football Club following a recent board meeting. The long-standing supporter, who has been a Chesterfield fan for almost seventy years, played a key role in the Trust's efforts to save the club six years ago.
A Decorated Exit
In a statement, Simmonds said: "It has been an honour to serve on the board since that time and see the progress that has been made."
Chairman Ashley Kirk praised Simmonds' contribution to the club's turnaround. "If you want to see your legacy, take a look at where the club was when you became involved!" Kirk said.
Continued Involvement
Simmonds will continue his involvement with the club as a trustee at the Chesterfield FC Community Trust. His resignation from the CFC 2001 Ltd board will have no impact on that role.
