Chesterfield FC Academy is recruiting volunteer physiotherapists and sports therapists to support medical services across the Academy and its newly established Youth Section.

The club is seeking enthusiastic and motivated clinicians to work alongside the Academy's Medical Department. The role offers valuable experience in a professional football environment for aspiring sports medicine practitioners, recent graduates and clinicians.

What the role involves

Volunteers will provide pitch-side medical cover for Academy and Youth Section training sessions and fixtures. Responsibilities include assessing and managing acute injuries sustained during training and matches, assisting with clinical assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of injured players, and supporting return-to-play planning.

Additional duties include maintaining accurate medical documentation, assisting with pre-training and pre-match medical preparations, and supporting the day-to-day running of the Academy's medical services.

Flexibility and commitment

The position offers flexible commitment based on availability. Sessions are allocated by mutual agreement and include evenings and occasional weekends. The arrangement suits individuals looking to gain experience alongside university studies or other employment.
