Families in Chesterfield can book visits to Santa's Grotto, which opens in New Square from 27 November until Christmas Eve. The grotto is a new addition to the town centre's festive activities.
Bookings are now open and families are encouraged to reserve tickets early to secure preferred date and time slots. Up to four children can be included on one booking.
What to expect at the grotto
Children visiting will receive a gift suitable for their age and a wishing coin. Professional photos with Santa are available to purchase, although families can also take their own photographs.
The grotto is dog friendly. Well-behaved dogs are welcome to meet Santa and pose for photos alongside their owners.
Relaxed sessions for children with additional needs
Relaxed SEN (Special Educational Needs) sessions will take place on 29 November, 6 December and 13 December between 10am and 10.30am. These sessions are highlighted in gold on the booking website.
Background
Councillor Kate Sarvent, cabinet member for town centres and visitor economy at Chesterfield Borough Council, said the grotto offers families an opportunity to enjoy festive time together. She noted that the refurbished New Square and Market Square have been designed to host events and activities throughout the year.
To book a visit, families should use the council's booking system available on the Chesterfield Borough Council website.
