December Pantomime and January Drama

A new production of Beauty and the Beast pantomime will run in December, starring Jake Canuso from ITV's Benidorm. Following record-breaking West End seasons, Reginald Rose's courtroom drama Twelve Angry Men will be presented in January 2027, produced by Bill Kenwright Ltd. The production explores justice, prejudice and the weight of responsibility as twelve jurors deliberate the fate of a young defendant.

Comedian Scott Bennett will perform his stand-up show Stuff, known for his relatable storytelling and regular appearances on BBC Radio Four.

Television presenter and canal enthusiast Robbie Cumming will visit Chesterfield with Canal Boat Stories, sharing tales from Britain's waterways to coincide with the 250th anniversary of the Chesterfield Canal opening.

Literary Adaptations

The programme includes stage adaptations of Charlotte Brontë's Jane Eyre, Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray presented by MJM Music, and a new production from playwright John Godber titled This Is the Life. Award-winning mask theatre company Vamos will bring Finding Joy to the 1435 in March, a wordless show based on true family experiences that has been performed globally from Shanghai to Switzerland.
