Community groups, charities and venues across Chesterfield are being invited to apply for funding to create or support warm and welcoming spaces during the winter months.
Grants of up to £750 are available from the Chesterfield Health and Wellbeing Partnership, which is funded by Public Health at Derbyshire County Council. The funding can be used to set up new warm hubs or contribute towards the running costs of existing spaces.
These spaces provide local residents with a welcoming place to socialise, enjoy hot drinks and take part in activities. A number of warm and welcoming spaces are already operating in Chesterfield, run by various partners and organisations across the borough.
Who can apply
Eligible applicants include voluntary and community sector organisations and community-led groups based in Chesterfield borough. Grants can be spent on a range of project costs to create or improve warm and welcoming spaces for local communities.
Deadline and how to apply
The deadline for applications is Friday 30 October. For more information on eligibility criteria or to request an application form, contact Wendy Blunt at Chesterfield Borough Council on wendy.blunt@chesterfield.gov.uk or call 01246 959657.
Organisations can also apply to a separate Warm and Welcoming Spaces Grant run by Derbyshire County Council and administered by Derbyshire Voluntary Action. Groups are welcome to apply to both programmes where appropriate. The teams will coordinate applications to ensure there is no duplication of funding for the same activities or costs, and successful applicants will only receive funding from one programme.
