Chesterfield Borough Council has announced service changes for Monday 31 August due to the summer bank holiday.
Bin collections
Bins due for collection on Monday 31 August will be collected on Saturday 29 August instead. Residents should have their general, recycling, garden and food waste bins ready by 7am, as collection crews may visit at different times than usual.
Council buildings and facilities
The Town Hall Reception, Customer Services Centre and Contact Centre will be closed on Monday 31 August. The Book of Remembrance Hall and Crematorium Gardens and toilets will both open from 10am to 4pm.
The new Beetwell Street multi-storey car park will open from 7am to 5pm on Monday 31 August. All other council-owned car parks will operate as usual over the bank holiday period.
Markets and shopping
The outdoor market and Market Hall will be closed on Monday 31 August. Pavements Shopping Centre will open from 9am to 4pm.
Reporting issues and emergencies
Residents can report issues such as missed bins or littering online using My Chesterfield during the closure. An out-of-hours emergency repairs service will be available for council tenants — call 01246 345041 for emergencies like burst pipes only. This line cannot transfer calls or handle other enquiries.
People facing homelessness due to an emergency should call P3 Charity on 0808 169 2333 for advice and assistance.
Theatres and normal services resume
Chesterfield Theatres box office will be closed on Monday 31 August. Tickets can be pre-booked online 24 hours a day, seven days a week at the Chesterfield Theatres website, with seats available to choose and tickets sent by email.
Council services will reopen as usual on Tuesday 1 September. Normal repairs service resumes on Tuesday 1 September.
