Chesterfield FC's U18s squad will travel to Gibraltar for an intensive pre-season training camp ahead of their first competitive fixture on 8 August. Based in Los Barrios, the group will combine classroom sessions with on-field work to develop their understanding of the club's philosophy during the week-long tour.
Competitive Fixtures and Opposition
The squad will face competitive opposition from Gibraltar Football League sides Glacis United and F.C. Magpies on Monday and Tuesday. Both clubs field experienced senior players, including several with former EFL experience, providing a demanding physical and technical test.
Learning Opportunity in Spain
On Wednesday, with no fixture scheduled, the players will train in the morning before travelling north of the border to watch Real Betis face Lyon in a pre-season friendly. This offers another learning opportunity against players with extensive European and international experience.
