Chesterfield FC's under-17 academy squad has won the Cygnus Cup following a strong pre-season camp in the capital. The young Spireites compiled an impressive record across the three-day tournament, finishing with seven wins, two draws and one loss from ten games played.

The campaign began with a 2-0 victory over Barnet U18 before the main tournament action. On the first day of the Cygnus Cup 2026, the squad played six games, winning five and losing one while scoring 11 goals and conceding two. The second day saw four further matches, with two wins and two draws.

Individual Honours

Several players caught the eye during the competition. Koday Chambers and Harry Goddard finished as joint top scorers in the tournament, while Jacob Newstead was named player of the tournament.

The success marks the first piece of silverware for the new academy graduates.
